Atlanta Women’s Health Group, the largest OB/GYN practice in the southeast, has a current job opportunity for a Sonographer in one of our North Atlanta locations.

This position will be required to communicate the process to the patient and instruct and assist patient in assuming the physical position for the test. Will also be responsible for discussing test results with supervisor or attending physician. Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to the nature of the test and other specifications of test. Enters test data and patient information into computer to become part of the test record. Conducts test procedure and observing sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced. Records diagnostic data on magnetic tape, computer disk, strip point out, or film, and produces a permanent record of test result. Checks all equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operation.

The ideal candidate will be a polished professional with 2-5 years of experience to perform diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing appropriate ultrasonic equipment to produce high frequency sound waves which create diagnostic images of the human body for use in diagnosis of disease, organ malfunctions or pregnancy application.

Specialized certification and completion of an approved course in medical sonography is required.
