Originally from England, Dr. Fairbrother graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wellesley College in 1988. She stayed in Boston and received both her Medical Degree and her Masters in Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Fairbrother completed her residency at Emory University School of Medicine where she was Administrative Chief Resident. She joined Obstetrics and Gynecology of Atlanta in 1996 where she continues to practice on a limited basis. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is part of Atlanta Women’s Health Group (AWHG), a consortium of prestigious OBGYN practices. During her tenure as Chief Medical Officer of AWHG she developed a successful hospitalist program.
Dr. Fairbrother was Chief of Medical Staff at Northside Hospital from 2010-2013 and prior to that was Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department from 2007-2009. She now sits on the Executive Board of Northside Hospital. She is the Chief Medical Officer of the Atlanta Women’s Health Group.
As seen in Atlanta Magazine, in the “annual roster of the doctors whom other doctors trust most” Dr. Fairbrother has been voted by her peers as a TOP DOCTOR annually since 2014.
Dr. Marcus has been a practicing Gynecologist/ Obstetrician for 30 years. He is a founding member of the Atlanta Women’s Heath Group. Prior to serving in his current role as Chief Medical Officer he served on the AWHG Board Of Directors for 12 years and on its Executive Committee for the past 4 years.
Dr. Marcus is board certified and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Marcus is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Society for Family Planning. He served as the Chief Medical Officer of Femasys Inc. from its inception in 2004 until 2022. He now serves as the Chief Medical Advisor. In addition, Dr. Marcus previously served as Chairman of Perinatal Services at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. He has also served on the boards of the Marcus Autism Center, Camps Sea Gull/Seafarer and Autism Society of Georgia. Dr. Marcus holds a BS in physics from Dickinson College, and an MS in biomedical engineering and an MD from The George Washington University. He is married to his wife Laura. They have 3 adult children.
John serves as Chief Administrative Officer of Atlanta Women’s Health Group (AWHG) and CFO of its management services organization, Medical Business Management (MBM). He is responsible for the comprehensive day-to-day management of business operations for a group (AWHG) that delivers over 16,000 babies each year, and the services organization (MBM) for 25 affiliated businesses. He has been vital in growing the practice from 53 to 130 physicians since joining in 2010. John also oversees affiliates North Crescent Surgery Center, The AWHG Breast Center, and AWHG Recovery Management. He was instrumental in the creation and start-up of Medical Business Management and The AWHG Breast Center, as well as the restructuring of Atlanta Women’s Health Group into a holding company with multiple wholly owned subsidiaries.
John earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business, and his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington.
